Chess Journalists of America will hold its winter membership meeting at 8:00pm (Eastern) on Sunday, February 4th. All members are welcome to attend by video conference. Zoom details are below.

Among other things, we will be discussing the Executive Board’s plans to reorganize as a nonprofit corporation under the laws of Texas and apply for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. As a neccesary part of this process, new bylaws will be adopted in lieu of the current constitution and bylaws. Members should read the Webmaster’s report and the proposed bylaws to prepare properly for the meeting.

This meeting will also be an opportunity for members to ask questions of the Executive Board and learn about what we have been doing since the annual meeting in August. Discussion items will include the work of the Outreach Committee, the Gaige archives, the chess magazine project, the website and The Chess Journalist. This year’s award program will also be discussed.
